Holy Family School History

Holy Family School is a co-education English medium school run by the sisters of the Congregation of the Holy Family. The Congregation of Holy Family is founded by the Blessed Mother Mariam Theresa and Servant of God Fr. Joseph Vithayathil. The school is established for Christian minority of Bihar State. It is governed by the Poreyahat Holy Family Society which is a religious and charitable organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. The Society aims at inculcating in the students the knowledge of true God, a spirit of initiative and responsibility, enables them to be spiritually oriented, nationally conscious, emotionally balance and physically well developed. They are also taught to appreciate and respect various cultures.
Blessed Mother Mariam Thresia, the foundress and a pioneer in the field of family apostolate, beatified on 9th April 2000. She has been the guiding star to her followers who

have vowed to implement and accomplish her divine mission. Her heroic venture of building up families paved the way for a stronger society. Her conviction, grit and determination enabled her to overlook oppositions and to forge ahead in building up ideal families. She built up the congregation with spiritual wealth of prayer, penance, piety and charity. The sisters of the congregation of Holy Family enliven her vision and strive to accomplish their noble mission. The flame lit by this “Blessed Mother” continues to glow and shine with greater intensity. Students and staff who enter Holy Family School share in our endeavor to scale new heights and to pass on this “flame” to the world all over.
